Bollywood's present approach to its shortage of successful new movies has emerged as re-releases. It would be neglectful not to acknowledge that the selection of films being re-released has been aimed at leveraging nostalgia for the charm of early 2000s Hindi cinema.
In a similar spirit, and perhaps heavily influenced by the character-focused comedies of its era, Netflix's recent release Yami Gautam New Movie Dhoom Dhaam tries to provide a new take on a screwball rom-com, yet ultimately becomes a reworking of borrowed cliches and foreseeable story arcs.
Netflix Movie Dhoom Dhaam Release Date
Yami Gautam New Movie Dhoom Dhaam premiered on 14th Feb on Netflix. The movie offers a safe viewing experience, as its creative elements lack originality and are conventional. The humor and love elements are more traditional than engaging, and the film's core message dangerously approaches the notion of seeking positives in arranged marriages. It joins a lineup of recent mainstream Hindi films that persist in failing to rejuvenate a stale film industry. Dhoom Dhaam can be streamed on Netflix.

Yami Gautam New Movie Dhoom Dhaam Story
In Yami Gautam New Movie, Dhoom Dhaam, Rishab Seth directs Yami Gautam and Pratik Gandhi as they undertake an overnight adventure throughout Mumbai. Newly-married Koyal (Yami) and Veer (Pratik) kick off their wedding night with a fast-paced car pursuit while fleeing armed goons hunting for “Charlie.”
The enigma of What/Who/Where “Charlie” is becomes secondary to the exchange between Koyal and Veer, who have been quickly wed – merely two weeks after their first meeting. The screenplay, taking place over one night in the streets of Mumbai, seeks to turn this dangerous circumstance into a chance for the couple to bond, free from the watchful gaze of family members.
New Movie Dhoom Dhaam Review
The idea behind Dhoom Dhaam isn’t particularly original, yet it does offer some opportunities for experimentation – sadly, most of these are overlooked. Yami Gautam New movie becomes so focused on accurately portraying its characters that it ultimately confines them within these stereotypes.
Koyal is presented to Veer and his family as the "well-behaved, gentle archetypal Indian woman." Perhaps to Veer’s surprise alone, she proves to be entirely different. In contrast to Koyal, Veer’s “simple” character reveals itself to possess deeper complexities. These depictions of “there’s more than what meets the eye” are presented as enlightening sermons.
Although the script occasionally appears uncertain about its own writing, it strives to emphasize clear themes. Koyal and Veer ultimately turn into foreseeable puppets in a routine comedy-thriller. It’s obvious that there’s hardly any chemistry for the actors to draw from the material they have to work with.
