Cocktail 2 Story

Cocktail 2 is described as centering on a complicated emotional triangle between Diya, Kunal, and Ally. Following a ten-year relationship, the connection between Diya and Kunal faces challenges when Ally, a former friend, reappears in their lives.

What begins as an arrangement between two women quickly spirals into disorder, triggering a blend of humor and emotional upheaval neither of them anticipated.

Is Cocktail 2 Exploring Lesbian Romance?

Although official plot details are not disclosed, previous online speculation indicated that Cocktail 2 would feature a lesbian romance. Nevertheless, these assumptions are false.

During the trailer launch, the team stated that the movie does not delve into a lesbian relationship. At a recent promotional event, Kriti Sanon reiterated once more, “There is no lesbian story." Rashmika Mandanna laughed and remarked, “Yet we certainly have that chemistry.” Kriti mentioned, “There are three straight people, guys calm down. It's a heartfelt movie; there isn't a physical threesome. Rashmika stated, “Check out the movie, everyone. "You will enjoy it."

As reported by Sacnilk, Cocktail 2 has secured advance ticket sales totaling Rs 2.47 crore gross (not including reserved seats) for its first day. It has sold 71,000 tickets. In the past 24 hours, pre-sales have seen a 70% increase.

Maharashtra has become the top-performing circuit, with Delhi, Gujarat, and Karnataka following close behind. There is just one day remaining, and as expected, the Shahid Kapoor film is set to easily surpass the 3 crore threshold in pre-sales.

Overall, in my point of view, Cocktail 2 has all the ingredients of a feel-good romantic entertainer. The music album is already a winner, and the chemistry between Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna looks promising. 

However, the film will heavily depend on audience word-of-mouth after release. If the emotional moments connect well with viewers, Cocktail 2 has the potential to emerge as one of the surprise rom-com hits of 2026.

Now, all eyes are on whether the film can turn its positive buzz into a successful box-office run.
