The movie presents Vetri (Vijay) as a formidable inmate incarcerated in a Madurai prison under enigmatic conditions. Even while imprisoned, Vetri holds significant respect and influence. Prison authorities state that he acts more as a guardian than as someone in need of safeguarding.
The movie slowly reveals his background and illustrates the emotional bond he has with prison warden Srikanth (Gautham Vasudev Menon) and subsequently, Srikanth’s daughter Viji (Mamitha Baiju), whom he promises to safeguard following a personal loss.
Jana Nayagan Budget & Cast Fees
Jana Nayagan is said to be one of the most expensive Tamil films ever produced, with a projected budget of approximately Rs 300-400 crore, covering production, marketing, and distribution costs.
According to reports, Vijay Thalapathy has received payment ranging from Rs 220-240 crore, marking one of the largest earnings in Indian cinema. Reports indicate that director H. Vinoth received a payment of Rs 25 crore. Anirudh Ravichander created the music and received about Rs 13 crore in payment.
Bobby Deol was said to have earned Rs 3 crore, and Pooja Hegde similarly made approximately Rs 3 crore. It is rumored that rising star Mamitha Baiju received around Rs 60 lakh for her performance.
