Matthew Perry death case nears end; charges possible - Details Inside

The investigation into the death of 'Friends' star Matthew Perry is nearing its conclusion and could soon lead to multiple criminal charges. Law enforcement officials, examining the actor's ketamine use, indicated that many individuals could face legal trouble if the U.S. Attorney's Office decides to press charges.

Perry, 54, died last October while undergoing ketamine infusion therapy. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office determined his death was due to the “acute effects of ketamine,” with drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine (an opioid) listed as contributing factors. His death was ruled accidental.

In his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” Perry candidly discussed his ketamine use, describing it as a treatment for pain and depression, though he admitted it made him feel like he was “dying.” Despite the Los Angeles Police Department stating in January that the investigation was complete, TMZ reported in May that federal authorities were probing Perry's ketamine use further. Dr. Bankole Johnson, in a report to Page Six, speculated that Perry might have illegally obtained ketamine for recreational use, rather than for medical purposes.

Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles mansion after sending his assistant on an errand. His tragic death has prompted scrutiny over the use and distribution of ketamine, with the potential for significant legal repercussions for those involved.
