On 21 May 2026, the makers unveiled the Bandar trailer which stars Bobby Deol in a lead role. The film marks the first collaboration between Bobby Deol and director Anurag Kashyap.

What Is The Story Of Bandar?
The official summary of the film states, “Samar (Bobby Deol) is a fading television icon whose fame is declining. As he begins to enjoy a cozy relationship with the younger Khushi (Saba Azad), his former partner Gayatri (Sapna Pabbi) seeks to reenter his life.

Refusing to engage in any reasoning with her, Samar decides to ghost and block Gayatri, unaware that his circumstances are about to become much more complicated. Gayatri subsequently alleges that Samar raped her. He is swiftly apprehended and placed into a legal system rife with corruption and keen to keep him incarcerated.
Box Office Clash
As we mentioned, the film Bandar will be released in theaters on 5 June 2026. According to social media buzz, the film has to face a tough competition at the box office as two other major movies are scheduled to be released a day before i.e, 4 June.
First one is Bollywood rom com ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ starring Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur and Varun Dhawan.
And the second one is Telugu film Peddi (Telugu). Ram Charan’s Peddi stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead opposite him. Along with these, there are multiple releases on June 5 in different languages.
Bandar looks like a gritty and hard-hitting crime thriller that dives deep into fame, media trials, and corruption. With Bobby Deol and Anurag Kashyap teaming up for the first time, the film has already grabbed attention among thriller fans.
