Actor Sanjay Dutt revealed a sequel to his 1993 hit Khalnayak on Friday (April 25, 2026). Named Khalnayak Returns, the movie is described as a reimagining of the original, which was helmed by Subhash Ghai and featured Jackie Shroff and Madhuri Dixit in prominent roles.

Sanjay Dutt revealed the Khalnayak Returns Teaser, showcasing him returning as Ballu, the legendary anti-hero from the original film. It depicts him in a tough demeanor as he ignites a cigar by soaking his fingers in gasoline. There are indications that Ballu has broken out of prison, as Dutt is depicted walking in slow motion.

The 4,000 inmates stated that they would all agree. I requested each of them to write a one-page piece on it (the new 'Khalnayak' story), and reading through all 4,000 pages took me some time.

"After I was released on parole, I requested Subhash sir to review it." Following that, he stated it should be created," he remarked.
