The highly anticipated Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Teaser starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur, was officially unveiled on April 14.
The teaser begins on an odd note, featuring AI-created toddlers conversing about their parents, only to discover an unexpected link. This amusing arrangement swiftly suggests a love triangle between Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur.
Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai Teaser features Dhawan wooing both female leads, emphasizing the concept of a "double trouble love story." The story embraces confusion and humor, a signature element of director David Dhawan’s unique style. Enhancing the nostalgia, the teaser showcases a revamped version of Ishq Sona Hai, which originally appeared in the 1999 movie Biwi No. 1, now reinvented as the film’s title song.

The movie features Varun Dhawan (Jass), Mrunal Thakur (Baani), and Pooja Hegde (Preet) in prominent roles. Maniesh Paul, Chunky Pandey, Jimmy Shergill, and Mouni Roy take on supporting roles in the movie.
The movie was previously set to hit theaters on June 5. Last month, the creators revealed that the movie is set to hit theaters on June 12. The creators have now announced a new release date - May 22.
Reason Behind Multiple Delays
The release dates were revised to avoid a major box office clash with Toxic, which has also been postponed from March 19 to June 4.
However, the biggest reason behind multiple film delays is Dhurandhar 2, directed by Aditya Dhar. Released on March 19, 2026, the film is enjoying massive hype and strong box office performance, prompting other filmmakers to push their releases to avoid direct competition.

Further, Mrunal Thakur appeared in the recently released film ‘Dacoit’ which premiered in theaters on 10 April 2026. The film is receiving mixed reviews and grossed over Rs 34 Crore worldwide by its third day.
Moving forward, Pooja Hegde was last seen in 2025 films ‘Deva’ alongside Shahid Kapoor as well as in ‘Coolie’ (special appearance).
