Happy Birthday Avicii

Happy Birthday Avicii

Nominated for the Grammy award, Avicii turns 28 today. Tim Bergling, known professionally as Avicii is a Swedish DJ, re mixer and record producer.

Avicii was ranked third on DJ Mag in 2012 and has been nominated for a Grammy Award twice.

Here are the top eight songs by our favorite Swedish DJ-

  1. Avicii - “Levels”: Does this song need any explanation? Many don’t know that this song contained a vocal sample from the 1962 gospel-inspired song “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” by Etta James. This song was officially release on 28th October 2011. This song is considered Avicii’s greatest song and one of the greatest EDM songs of all time.

  2. Avicii - “Wake Me Up”: A combination of country and electronic dance music. This song was first debuted in Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

  3. Avicii- “My Feelings for you” feat. Sebastian Drums: A super disco inferno. This one’s a crowd favorite; technically a remix of a song from French band Cassius. This song charted at no. 46 on the UK Singles Chart. This song’s video is a computer generated video and follows the story of two love hearts that love each other.

  4. Avicii- “Fade into Darkness”: This tune has a lot of country- western influence, this song basically predates the ultra hit “Levels”, I’m sure you were unaware of this fact. This can be one of those cross- genre hits if the piano gets replaced with acoustic guitar. Mesmerizing indeed.

  5. Avicii- “ I could be the one”:Featuring Nicky Romero, this is far Avicii’s most recognizable and peppy hook of 2012. This song flickers between indulgently sweet and tremendously chirpy. It was a total hit, trending in 22 countries and hitting Billboard charts for four consecutive days.

  6. Avicii- “Hey Brother”: “Hey Brother” is undoubtedly one of the twangiest dance floor favorites to ever trend on the festival  circuit. The music video is bound to make you cry (head’s up). From the album “True”, it really shows the wrld how inclusive dance music could be.

  7. Avicii- “Seek Bromance”: This song is so old school that our birthday boy was known as Tim Berg then, yet this song is on of the best in Avicii’s catalog. It was number one on the Billboard Dance Clubs list, it started in 20 countries and till date it is influential enough to give feel-good house song vibes.

  8. Avicii- “For a better day”: This song hits the listener like a bullet train, it indeed is soulful and hypnotic, though totally danceable and infectious. It shows how Avicii has come as a composer and fabulous songwriter. The tunes are an intense combination of Mumford and Sons and Miike Snow. The kind of song even haters can’t hate.

We at All Dat Matterz wish our Swedish DJ Avicii a very happy birthday!
