Dhanush's 'Raayan' postponed, to now release on July 26

Dhanush, the versatile actor, expands his horizons with his second directorial venture, "Raayan," where he also takes on the lead role. Originally scheduled for release on June 13th, the film's debut has been pushed back by the producers. Now, eagerly anticipated, "Raayan" is set to grace theaters on July 26th, just days before Dhanush's birthday. This decision came after the recent releases of the film's songs, "Adangaadha Asuran" and "Water Packet."

Backed by Sun Pictures, "Raayan" boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Selvaraghavan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, and others. Notably, AR Rahman reunites with Dhanush for the music, marking their fifth collaboration. With cinematography by Om Prakash and editing by Prasanna GK, the film promises a visual and auditory treat for audiences.

Dhanush, known for his multifaceted talents, juggles multiple projects simultaneously. Among these is "Kubera," directed by Sekhar Kammula, alongside stars like Nagarjuna Akkineni and Rashmika Mandanna. He is also set to portray the legendary Ilaiyaraaja in a biopic helmed by Arun Matheswaran, who previously collaborated with him on "Captain Miller" in 2024.

In the realm of direction, Dhanush is not slowing down either. He collaborates with Mari Selvaraj for an unnamed project, following the success of "Karnan" in 2021. Moreover, he is spearheading "Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam," showcasing his prowess behind the camera. With GV Prakash Kumar onboard for music, the film features a fresh ensemble of talented individuals.

Dhanush's journey to stardom is as unique as his diverse roles in the industry. Despite his current acclaim, his initial passion lay in the culinary arts. In a revealing interview, he reminisced about his early ambitions of becoming a chef. A poignant memory involves him cooking for his father, whose delight and encouragement spurred him to pursue this culinary dream.
