Maremma is set in a crisis-hit Telangana village that places its faith entirely in its guardian deity, Maremma Thalli. When goats and buffaloes begin dying under mysterious circumstances, panic spreads fast, and the villagers turn to the goddess for protection. Around this time, a bull calf named Maari is born, believed to be tied to the deity's blessing, and the film's young hero grows up entrusted with protecting and caring for this sacred animal.
Just when things seem to settle, the mysterious deaths return, and then the bull itself vanishes without a trace. Blamed for the disappearance, the protagonist is forced to go looking for it himself, a search that drags him into violent confrontations, deep-rooted local beliefs, and old power struggles within the village.
There's also a quieter emotional thread running alongside the chaos, his cousin, played by Deepa Balu, is in love with him, adding a layer of personal conflict to everything he's dealing with. It's a rich mix of rural superstition and Telugu action, the kind of grounded Telugu action storytelling that leans on real stakes rather than spectacle, anchored by what the makers describe as an unusually intense final twenty minutes.
