Varanasi First Poster Out
Mahesh Babu's initial appearance as Rudhra from SS Rajamouli's epic Varanasi has been revealed on the actor's birthday, offering fans a fresh look at the character in one of the most awaited action-adventure films.
The recently published photos feature Mahesh Babu with a beard and relaxed outdoor attire. One of the images positions the character in the African wilderness, featuring zebras and giraffes in the backdrop.
Another depicts the actor lounging on a bamboo raft or cot amidst thick foliage. The pictures were taken during the film's schedule in Africa, which involved shooting near Mount Kilimanjaro and the Masai Mara.

What is the story of Varanasi?
According to Gulte, the story is set in the year 2027, the world faces a massive threat when a giant asteroid named Shambhavi heads straight toward the holy city of Varanasi.
To prevent total disaster, a tough archaeologist and fearless adventurer named Rudhra (played by Mahesh Babu) takes on a dangerous mission. His goal is to find an ancient cosmic artifact that holds the secret to stopping the asteroid and saving the planet.
Joining him on this wild quest is Mandakini (played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas), a brilliant historian who doubles as a skilled marksman. But their journey is anything but smooth. As the duo travels across the globe searching for clues, they are relentlessly hunted down by a ruthless mastermind named Kumbha (played by Prithviraj Sukumaran), turning their mission into an intense race against time.

Following the massive global success of RRR, director SS Rajamouli has pushed the boundaries of visual storytelling even further for Varanasi.
