The controversy started when actress Taniya Chatterjee alleged that Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal sent her a message via Instagram. In an encounter with paparazzi, she showcased what she referred to as screenshots of the supposed dialogue.

Taniya Chatterjee stated that Chahal's message said, “You are cute.” She displayed her phone to the photographers, asserting that the message originated directly from the cricketer’s account. The video swiftly spread across social media, garnering significant interest.
No Official Statement From Chahal
Currently, Yuzvendra Chahal has not provided any formal statement to affirm or refute the allegations. The absence of a reply has sparked conjecture online, as fans and followers anticipate clarification.

Taniya Chatterjee’s Claims Over Yuzi Chahal’s PR Team
In a conversation with India Forums, Chatterjee disclosed that she faced pressure to remove the proof of the interaction. She conveyed her confusion regarding the request, mentioning that the message was not offensive.
"Following this event, I received a message from his (Chahal's) PR team requesting that I remove the video, and I questioned why since it reflects the truth, and he hasn't said anything inappropriate or wrong, correct?" Chatterjee claimed.
Yuzvendra Chahal Professional Life
After his separation from Dhanashree Verma in 2025, the Haryana spinner has consistently been the subject of online chatter and speculation. Previously, he was associated with RJ Mahvash, but they subsequently parted ways.
In the current IPL 2026, the leg-spinner represents Punjab Kings and remains the primary spin choice for the squad during the middle overs.
He has taken a total of 3 wickets in 4 matches during the tournament so far. Chahal remains the all-time leading wicket-taker in IPL history with 224 wickets. He was kept by the PBKS for INR 18 crore.
