When two teenagers learn they are exchanging bodies, they develop a deep, mystical bond. When the boy and girl decide to meet in person, things manage to get even more difficult. I have vivid memories of the years after the release of My Name. I was in high school the year the film was released, and I felt compelled to conceal my passion for films. 

I kind of believed that since movies weren't cool, I had to suppress this love and move on because I was a strange, depressed, and ridiculed child in high school. 

After I grew up a little, everything worked out because I now work on this blog and am a professional film critic.

A seventeen-year-old girl named Suzume assists an enigmatic young guy in closing doors from the other side that are causing catastrophes around Japan in this contemporary action adventure road story. I simply never get around to seeing anime films by myself for whatever reason. I started watching more animated films recently after discovering that I could do so via my Kanopy account, which is available on my smart TV.

It centers on Hodaka Morishima, a 16-year-old high school student who flees his unstable rural home and travels to Tokyo, where he eventually makes friends with Hina Amano, an orphaned girl with the power to control the weather.

A fugitive teenage guy named Hodaka finds a female who can control the weather in this romantic fantasy film. Hina, the girl, has a single role. Consequently, the world's equilibrium is restored.

Takao, a 15-year-old aspiring shoemaker in Tokyo, chooses to forego class on a soggy morning in order to draw patterns in a lovely garden. Here he meets Yukari, a stunning but enigmatic woman. They become friends in an odd way.

Takao, who wants to be a shoemaker, is drawing shoes in a garden in the midst of Tokyo while skipping school. He encounters Yukino, an enigmatic woman who is older than him. The two then begin to see each other frequently, but only on rainy days, without scheduling their meetings.

I read a lot about Japanese animation and film in general, as well as his other movies. In any case, when I opened Kanopy, this became deeply embedded in my mind.

5. She and Her Cat: Everything Flows

The straightforward, endearing series follows Kanojo as she searches for a career and goes through a number of life transitions, with her cat Daru serving as a continuous source of comfort. There isn't much novelty in She and Her Cat: Everything Flows. It's a short, reflective character drama, and while its distinct character viewpoint offers some intriguing insight, it doesn't significantly alter the series' plot.

The series does a fantastic job of capturing the priceless tie that exists between a pet and its owner. Additionally, the delicate topic of mental health is handled quite skilfully, with a strong emotional touch and a careful hand. Throughout, the writing is typically excellent, with a few really imaginative and thought-provoking phrases.

This film takes place over the course of a single boy's life. His name is Takaki Tono, and the movie starts in Japan in 1991 when Takaki meets Akari, a new girl. Like him a year before, she recently switched to his elementary school, and their interests align. 

Akari and Takaki are elementary school classmates. They have grown close during their time together. When Akari relocates to a different city due to her parents' professions, their relationship is put to the test. As time and distance gradually separate them, they both fight to maintain their friendship. Takaki makes the decision to pay Akari one final visit after learning that he is relocating farther away.

A futuristic tale about a young, self-reliant woman's development. The narrator describes how her connection with her father is being impacted by her development. The narrative takes place "slightly in the future" and centers on Aya "Aachan" Okamura, a woman who has been employed for two years and has moved out on her own due to a job opportunity.

Aachan's father now lives alone with the family's long-time pet cat, Mii-san, while Aachan's mother works abroad as a doctor. Aachan remembers the times the family spent together as she lies in bed one evening after returning from a demanding workday.

Shin and Asuna must each go through the grieving process for Shun, but Morisaki is so overcome with sadness that, even after ten years without his wife, all he can think about is how to bring her back, at whatever cost.

Similar to Laputa, Agartha is a hidden realm that borders our own, but like Laputa, many "topsiders" have attempted to exploit its opportunities and corrupt them for personal gain.  The majority of Agartha is in ruins, just like the castle in the sky, but both are still beautiful.  For Children Who Chase Lost Voices, Shinkai aimed to create "animation which anyone in the world can enjoy."

9. She and Her Cat: Their Standing Points

The first-person narrative of the short film is told from the viewpoint of a male cat who considers his life with his young female owner, simply known as "She." The narrative takes place over the course of a year, starting in the spring when she finds the stray cat outside her house on a wet day. She adopts him and gives him the name Chobi. Because of her generosity, Chobi rapidly grows to love her.

He watches her go about her everyday life as she departs for work while he spends time in their tiny flat.

During the summer, Chobi meets Mimi, a female cat who lives next door. She falls in love with him and says she wants to marry and live with him, but Chobi declines her advances because of his steadfast devotion to her.

10. The Place Promised in Our Early Days

The narrative is set in 1996, a different postwar era in which Japan is split. The "Union" controls Hokkaido, whereas the United States controls Honshu and other southern islands. In Hokkaido, a large structure was constructed that was visible from Tokyo.

Three middle school kids promise to use a homemade plane to cross the border and discover the tower's secret in the summer of 1996, but their plan was shelved after the girl. Following Japan's 1974 separation, the "Union"-a reference to the Soviet Union- occupied the northern island. The Union also started building an odd tower on Hokkaido that same year, which was created by a scientist by the name of Ekusun Tsukinoe.

11. Cross Road

In the first-ever portmanteau film honouring womanhood, Crossroad follows ten women as they deal with ten distinct life circumstances. 

In the end, Makoto Shinkai Anime Movies it's a little shocking to see how successful and unique "Crossroads" is in spite of all the loot. It steals so liberally and is reminiscent of so many other films. In the film, Ralph Macchio plays a brilliant adolescent who studied classical guitar at Julliard and looks up to the legendary blues artists of the 1930s and 1940s.

12. Other Worlds

In the afterlife, a spirit guide aids in reincarnation. He must learn about human emotions while saving a young girl whose rage threatens to transform her into a monster. The narrative opens with Yuri, a little child who has passed away, being led by spirit guide Gudo to the afterlife while she looks for her brother.

Gudo meets Keung, a hungry farmer mistreated by the ruling class, and Goran, the princess and heir of Flower City, at the same moment. In order for them to be reincarnated, Gudo must lead them all through the process of purifying their memories and unresolved grudges. The video gradually shows the connections between these interwoven stories through a largely non-linear framework.

Makoto Shinkai anime movies are more than just animated films - they are emotional journeys filled with love, longing, and breathtaking visuals.
