Ek Din is said to be a remake of the 2016 Thai romantic drama One Day, which tells the story of a young man who develops feelings for his coworker but lacks the bravery to reveal his emotions to her. He wishes -- to spend one day with her and, to his surprise, the wish is realized.

Ek Din is scheduled to premiere on May 1, 2026. The film will not have an individual release, since it is scheduled to compete at the box office with Riteish Deshmukh's Raja Shivaji, a biopic about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
