Anya Singh In The Bads Of Bollywood
If you viewed Aryan Khan’s The Bads of Bollywood, you likely observed the turmoil linked to the notorious three-film deal. For some, it may serve as a golden opportunity; for others, it turns into a prison with no escape.
In the series, the character who was most affected by this arrangement was Sanya, depicted by Anya Singh, who played the manager of Lakshya Lalwani’s Aasmaan. Yet, the irony is that Anya Singh herself allegedly signed a comparable contract with Yash Raj Films (YRF) off-screen.
YRF Deal With Anya Singh
In 2016, YRF presented Anya as its new talent and secured her for a three-movie agreement. She made her debut in 2017 alongside Aadar Jain in Qaidi Band. Regrettably, the movie failed at the box office, and the other two proposed projects never came to fruition.
Even though Anya had been in the industry for almost ten years, she was slowly pushed to the background and appeared in minor roles in movies like Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and Stree 2.
Story Behind Her Casting In YRF Project
Anya Singh, who originated from Delhi, was discovered by casting director Shanoo Sharma while she was searching for fresh talent in Delhi, Chandigarh, and Jaipur. Sharma actually encountered her for the first time in a cafe and quickly recognized her potential. Following two auditions, Anya was selected as YRF’s upcoming project.
Anya’s parents, on the other hand, were doubtful about Bollywood, referring to it as the “Big Bad World.” She was allotted only one year to test her fortune; if it didn’t succeed, she was anticipated to pursue higher education overseas.
For Anya, the opportunity was too significant to overlook. By signing the three-film agreement, she envisioned collaborating with her idol Ranveer Singh. Anya’s Career In Bollywood
Her first appearance in Qaidi Band (2017) was intended to be her stepping stone, but its lack of commercial success altered the direction of her career. At that moment, Anya informed a wire service: “Indeed, the Qaidi Band received a tepid reaction… When you create a film, numerous individuals invest their effort, and when it fails, it impacts you. You feel upset because it resembles your child.
The last two movies in her contract never got off the ground. In 2019, she ventured into Telugu cinema with a movie alongside Sundeep Kishan, but it also did not make an impact.
Anya subsequently transitioned to digital, gaining recognition through the web series Never Kiss Your Best Friend alongside Nakuul Mehta. Subsequently, she took on minor roles—portraying Lala, an influencer and Adarsh Gourav’s girlfriend in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and Chitti, Apaarshakti Khurana’s romantic interest, in Stree 2.
