Delhi Capitals Vivo IPL Players List

The Delhi Capitals, who have recently changed their name from Delhi Daredevils, will enter the field under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer. The team needs to work on their playing form hard enough, as it is the only team that hasn’t made it to the Indian Premium League finals over the years. With the name changed we hope the team has revived and revamped in a whole new avatar and would make it to the finals this year.

Speculations are that the name has been changed, out of the belief that it shall change their fortunes as well, helping them reach the top. The team shall once again see Shikhar Dhawan long after 2008 when he was a part of the squad. The team will be led by Shreyas Iyer who took over the captaincy in the mid of the last season from Gautam Gambhir.

They had two main areas that needed added support - the Indian bowling reserves and the middle order. Most of their retained players were openers or top order batsmen and so good middle order batsmen were the need of the hour, to place in between the fiery top order and the destructive finisher in the form of Chris Morris.

The team has almost entirely revamped as nearly half the members were released before the IPL Auction 2019. DC bought ten cricketers including  Axar Patel for Rs 5 crore, Sherfane Rutherford for Rs 2 crore, Colin Ingram for Rs 6.40 crore, Ishant Sharma for Rs. 1.10 crore and HanumaVihari for Rs 2 crore.

An Analysis for team Delhi Capitals- IPL 2019

With all the major changes in the team, we hope they make it big this IPL. The franchise is making all possible efforts to make it to the finals at least this year. Delhi Capitals always had a lot of talent but failed to carry out their plans. But this time they plan to play it differently with players like Pant and Shaw who have grown out to be experienced campaigners, leading the team.

Also with hidden individual agendas, the team has more chances to overcast the others. Talking about Sandeep Lamichhane, who might decide to perform even better as this may seem to him as his breakthrough season. Also, he has a great opportunity of becoming a sensation. Ishant also has the platform to recover his limited overs form. And Shaw shall see it as a chance to strengthen his already popular image as a magnificent opener.

The best combination to see on grounds will be that of Amit Mishra, Axar Patel and Sandeep as a trump card. The three of them would be a deadly combo with a promising form for DC. Similarly, players like Keemo Paul, Nathu Singh and Jalaj Saxena, if used cleverly, can do marvels for the franchise.

The auction saw DC trade Dhawan from Sunrisers Hyderabad for Shahbaz Nadeem, Vijay Shankar and Abhishek Sharma. Though the team lost some really bright players what benefits are having a stable opener like Dhawan. Every step by the team is well thought of as they hope of redeeming the lost image this IPL.

Dhawan opening along with Shaw, a left-right combination, is something that DC will greatly benefit from. The team is in perfect batting form with Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh

Pant next to Dhawan and Shaw for an amazing top order. On the other hand, Hanuma Vihari and Colin Ingram resolve the middle order catastrophe to a large extent.

Finishing order seems to be in control, with Tewatia, Morris and Axar all proficient enough for big hits. They also have a fierce fast bowling attack front with Morris, Boult and Rabada along with a few Indian youngsters.

Delhi has two Proteas pacers who are likely to be unavailable for a certain time of the IPL, which could be strongly damaging for the franchise. They do not have sufficient resources to overcome the absence of these stars.

Looking towards the positive front, the team looks well balanced with an amalgamation of young and experienced both. The team has to be extra careful about injuries and make strategies for the missing players if they wish to win the title. There are loopholes but that is what every team has and we wish the best team wins.
