Apart from attending the Lit Fest
The Jaipur Literature Festival is just around the corner and we are hella excited! But if you’re looking for something different and offbeat, then fret not, we have you covered. Jaipur has so much to offer and sometimes we miss it because we are set in our ways. Exploring a new city like a localite would is the best way to travel. Here are some things you can do in Jaipur that are not visiting forts.
1. Visit the Indian Coffee House
Situated at M.I. Road, don’t expect a swanky restaurant. This is an old classic with the paint peeling off the walls and waiters wearing turbans like in the old times.
2. Cycling expedition
Explore the Nahargarh fort on two wheels and take in the scenic beauty of the amalgamation of the Indian and European architecture. When you’re beat down from all the peddling, enjoy a delicious dinner at the Padao open bar/restaurant at the rooftop of the fort. Food and a magnificent view, it could not get any better.
3. Kachori craze
When in Jaipur, you have to try their famous Kachori. The best place to do so is at Lakshmi Misthan Bhandar in Johri Bazaar and Doodh Mishthan Bhandar, in Lal Kothi .
4. A stroll around Asia’s largest circle
The Jawahar Circle garden is Asia’s largest circle and is lines with street vendors, jogging tracks and a rose garden. An early morning stroll here would really be the highlight of your trip.
5. For the Art lovers
If you’re an appreciator of fine art, do visit the Jawahar Kala Kendra which always has some art and culture to offer. The festivals here keep running all year long.
If you decide to take a break from the Lit Fest, you have no lack of options to try!
