Khashaba Teaser
The makers released Nagraj Manjule’s Khashaba teaser which is an upcoming Marathi-language biographical drama.
The teaser begins with images of a man spinning a rope while Ajay-Atul's music gradually builds in intensity. There are scenes of pre-independent India featuring British officials alongside visuals of local residents from that era. The teaser does not disclose the actor in the main role but merely hints at a powerful biopic.
What Is Khashaba About?
The movie tells the story of Khashaba Jadhav, the first Olympic medalist of independent India. He secured a bronze medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1952 Summer Olympics held in Helsinki.

Nagraj Manjule Returns To Marathi Cinema
The movie signifies Manjule's comeback to Marathi cinema after his Indian National Film Award-winning "Fandry" and the success of "Sairat" in 2016. This follows his 2022 Hindi-language feature debut “Jhund,” featuring Amitabh Bachchan, along with his Prime Video series “Matka King,” starring Vijay Varma, which launched earlier this year.
Jio Studios, known for supporting the “Dhurandhar” duology, among the top-grossing Indian movies ever, and “Raja Shivaji,” the leading Marathi-language film for revenue, is partnering with Aatpat Productions for this project.
Overall, Khashaba looks like a grand and emotional biopic that celebrates the inspiring journey of wrestling icon Khashaba Jadhav. With Nagraj Manjule at the helm, this Marathi film already feels like one of 2027’s most awaited releases.
