Fashion week in Mumbai isn’t complete without stars gracing the ramp. This year’s Winter Festive edition had a lot of new muses
Filmy faces on the fashion week ramp are icing on the designer three-tier cake every season. It’s not a compulsion for labels to have actors as showstoppers at Lakme Fashion Week. Quite a few big-name fashion designers have never featured a famous face. However, it’s something visitors have come to look forward to, since LFW is held in tinseltown. What’s better than seeing your favourite factors in front of you? Watching her draped in gorgeous designer wear, of course.
This season at Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2017, we were treated to no less than 33 gorgeous (male and female) Bollywood showstoppers. A slew of tomorrow’s designer muses sashayed by – Disha Patani, Vani Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Shraddha Kapoor.
Men weren’t left behind. Jim Sarbh (seen in Neerja) wore a cool outfit for Anuj Bhutani and Aditya Roy Kapur (escorting Jacqueline Fernandez) was dashing in a Manish Malhotra ensemble. Vidyut Jammwal stole our hearts with his ninja moves and Samurai hairdo. Aditi Rao Hydari and Elli Avram were gorgeous in lehengas. Nargis Fakhri looked exceptionally tired (and a little bloated) in pastel Indian wear; the lighter hair colour didn’t do her justice either. Kalki Koechlin appears to have forgotten how to smile. Her shimmery white outfit was futuristic enough to brighten her day. Sunny Leone was given an unflattering column dress; no wonder she looked uncomfortable despite the glitz.
On the other hand, despite the turbulence in her personal life, Malaika Arora was more ravishing than ever in red lace. Disha Patani was an absolute doll in a non-wintery floral dress for Label Ritu Kumar.
