Prahaar Teaser
On 25 June, the makers unveiled the Prahaar teaser on social media. Rajkummar Rao plays public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam in the film, who helped in convicting Ajmal Kasab, the prime suspect in the Mumbai 26/11 attacks.
The teaser opens with a dramatic monologue where Rao transforms into Nikam and vows about hanging Kasab till his death. Lalit plays Kasab in the film as the teaser also shows disturbing visuals of the night when he fired at common people in Mumbai. The film promises to revisit the harrowing act from the perspective of the trial which convicted Kasab.
Rajkummar Rao & Dinesh Vijan Collaboration
After a blockbuster Stree franchise, actor Rajkummar Rao and producer Dinesh Vijan join hands once again for upcoming movie Prahaar.
Packed with emotional stakes and a significant chapter in the nation's history, the film is scheduled to release on 7 August 2026.
The film stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Sikandar Kher, Jaideep Ahlawat, Ashish Vidyarthi, Lalit Prabhakar, and Ritvik Sahore.
Who Is Ujjwal Nikam Played By Rajkummar Rao?
Ujjwal Nikam is among India's leading public prosecutors and is renowned for his role in the prosecution of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks case.
Throughout his career, he has been linked to numerous high-profile cases, such as the 1993 Bombay serial bomb blasts, the Gulshan Kumar murder case, the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and the 2013 Mumbai gang rape incident.
Rajkummar Rao Latest Movies
As we all know Rajkummar Rao is a brilliant actor. Recently he was seen in Netflix’s film Toaster alongside Sanya Malhotra. It is a dark comedy film which is a major hit and recorded 4.4 million views and over 9.2 million viewing hours. Also, Toaster was trending No.1 globally on Netflix's Non-English Films chart.
Before this, Rajkummar Rao appeared in Maalik (2025). Unfortunately, the film failed to attract the audiences and it was considered a commercial flop.
Overall, the teaser left a strong impact on me. Rajkummar Rao looks completely convincing as Ujjwal Nikam, and the intense courtroom drama combined with the emotional backdrop of the 26/11 case makes Prahaar one of the most awaited films of 2026.
If the film delivers the same intensity shown in the teaser, Prahaar could become one of Rajkummar Rao's finest performances. It is definitely a movie worth keeping an eye on.
