Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding: ‘Stand by me’

Prince Harry aged 33, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and Meghan Markle, 36, an American actress got married at Windsor Castle yesterday. The duo now has a new title, Prince Harry will now be known as the Duke of Sussex, Earl of Dumbarton and Baron Kilkeel. The suits fame will be known as Her Royal Highness Duchess of Sussex. Although not very important the wedding is unique because she is an American, divorced, three years older than her partner, Harry had a high-profile career and is also biracial.

The wedding had stately music and the entire setting of the wedding looked heavenly and the dress worn by the bride was by Clare Waight Keller, the first female designer for Givenchy. The duo exchanged vows in front of 600 guests and the guest list included esteemed and high-end profiles like Oprah Winfrey, Elton John, Serena Williams, the Clooneys, Kate Middleton’s parents, Carole and Michael, were there and the Beckhams along with the entire English Royal family. Meghan’s mother, an African-American social worker was also present at the royal wedding.

A passage from the Song of Solomon: “Arise my love, my fair one, and come away; for now, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone” was in the address that was delivered by Lady Jane Fellowes, Harry’s aunt (her sister was Diana, Princess of Wales). It seemed like the sadness in Harry’s life had finally been lifted after his mother’s death.

The royal family then thanked everyone on their twitter handle when the posted,
"Thank you to everyone who came to Windsor and those who followed from around the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world today. Congratulations once again to the newly-married Duke and Duchess of Sussex. #royalwedding."
