Latest Hindi Movies to Watch in Theatres and on OTT 2026

✦ AI Summary

Hindi cinema is having a strangely packed month. Drishyam Conclusion is still running full shows weeks after it opened. Dussehra put two very different films head to head. Udta Teer finally turned up on the 23rd after being pushed around twice. Friday brings more. So if you're wondering which of the latest Hindi movies are actually worth your money right now, in theatres or at home, start here.

One thing before you scroll. The box office numbers below are early estimates, mostly from Sacnilk, and they get revised almost every day, so don't quote them as final. Release dates in India also slip more often than anyone likes. I've kept to what's confirmed and marked what isn't.

Latest Hindi Movies Still Running in Theatres

  • Drishyam: The Conclusion came out on 2 October, and it's the one everybody's talking about. Ajay Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar for what's being called the last chapter. Tabu and Shriya Saran are back, Jaideep Ahlawat joins as the new crime branch officer on his tail, and Abhishek Pathak directs. Worldwide, it's past ₹550 crore, second among this year's Hindi releases after Dhurandhar: The Revenge. One honest warning: if you skipped the first two films, this one will feel like walking into the last hour of a long match. Catch up first.

  • Udta Teer:  took the longest road to cinemas. It slipped from September, then from early October, and finally opened on 23 October. Debutant Aakash Kaushik directs, with Ayushmann and Sara playing around with mistaken identity and a patriotic streak. Day one was a soft ₹4.10 crore net, but Saturday jumped to ₹7.25 crore and Sunday hit ₹8.10 crore, so the weekend closed near ₹19.45 crore. Reviews say it's more fun than it is logical. Fair enough. Not every spy film needs a perfect plot, and this one seems to know it.

  • Nayyi Navelli: Then there's the 16 October pair. Nayyi Navelli , Yami Gautam Dhar's horror comedy directed by Balaji Mohan, got lukewarm reviews and still pulled families in over Dussehra: about ₹18.65 crore net in five days. Prahaar: The Ujjwal Nikam Story is a courtroom drama with Rajkummar Rao, directed by Avinash Arun. Slower start, steady week, roughly ₹20 crore by day five. They're nothing alike, honestly. If horror-comedy sounds like timepass, pick the first. If you'd rather sit through cross-examinations, pick the second.

A few smaller Hindi films also opened on 23 October, including Gajab Raat with Manoj Bajpayee and Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Tu Hai Meri Kiran with Zaheer Iqbal and Sonakshi Sinha. Screens are limited, so check your multiplex app before you head out.

New Hindi Movies Releasing This Friday, 30 October

Three Hindi films open together.

Nakhrewaalii is a romantic comedy from Aanand L Rai's banner with Jio Studios. Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava lead, Rahul Shanklya directs, and the twist is a role reversal: the guy has to play Laila to win his Majnu. Young cast, light premise, right mood for pre-Diwali week.

Pyre is the odd one out, and I mean that kindly. Vinod Kapri's film follows two goat herders in a mountain village that's slowly emptied as younger people move to cities. No big stars, no spectacle. If you've been complaining that Hindi cinema only makes loud films, this is the quiet answer.

Love Story Abhimanyu Ki, a romance with action and a social angle, opens too, though it's getting the least coverage.

New Hindi Movies on OTT This Week

Start with Meethe Mein Kya Hai on Netflix, 30 October. It's a Hindi family drama set around Diwali, with Ritwik Bhowmik and Rohini Hattangady. Easy pick if parents or grandparents are watching with you.

Netflix also has Akka the same day. It's a series, not a film, with Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte, but it's the biggest Hindi streaming title of the week so it deserves a line. JioHotstar adds an uncut version of the horror film Obsession (English and Hindi), also on the 30th.

Already streaming: Reporting Live, a Hindi crime-investigative thriller from Dhruv Tripathi, has been on Netflix since 9 October and got buried under all the Drishyam noise. And Awarapan 2, which earned around ₹207 crore worldwide after its 14 August release, was a paid rental on Prime Video from 25 September and turned free for standard subscribers on 9 October.

Mirzapur: The Movie (₹325 crore or so after its 4 September release) is reportedly heading to Prime Video around 30 October. Reportedly. Nothing official, so don't cancel anything for it.

So What Should You Actually Watch?

One outing only? Drishyam: The Conclusion, as long as you've seen the earlier films. Going with friends who just want a laugh, Udta Teer. Staying home with family, Meethe Mein Kya Hai. And if you've got patience for something slow, Pyre or Prahaar will repay it.

One practical thing. Festival-week evening shows in Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru sell out early, so book a day ahead for a group.

What's Coming Next

Early November looks crowded. Ranbir Kapoor's Ramayana is listed for the first week, though sites disagree on whether it's 5 or 6 November. Drishyam: The Conclusion is expected on Netflix around mid to late November, but that's an estimate, not an announcement. Dates move a lot in Indian cinema, so check the ticketing app before you plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

Ans: Drishyam: The Conclusion, no contest. It's past ₹550 crore worldwide, and only Dhurandhar: The Revenge has earned more among this year's Hindi releases.

Ans: Nakhrewaalii, Pyre and Love Story Abhimanyu Ki in cinemas, and Meethe Mein Kya Hai on Netflix if you'd rather stay home.

Ans: No. The film is barely four days old in theatres. The usual gap for Hindi films is six to eight weeks, which points to December, but that's only a pattern, not an announcement.

Ans: Yes, going by reports and the opening credits, though neither Netflix nor the makers have given a date. Mid to late November is what people are guessing.

Ans: You can now. It was a rental on Prime Video from 25 September, then became free for standard subscribers on 9 October.
