Mrunal and Adivi Sesh visited Hyderabad to launch the Telugu version of the Dacoit Trailer. The movie was initially scheduled for a March 19 release, but the creators reportedly chose to move the date due to other major films, like 'Dhurandhar 2', being set for that same day.

The Dacoit Trailer has garnered an incredible reaction from audiences and industry personalities, such as Mahesh Babu, Nag Ashwin, and Anushka Shetty.

In a brief period, the trailer has surpassed 20 million views on digital platforms and is now trending on YouTube, heightening anticipation for the film.

Dacoit Story

The story begins with Adivi and Mrunal (Hari and Juliet) as a couple, intending to wed and start a family. Juliet expresses her desire for a boy, but Hari replies that he prefers a girl like her.

Yet, their charming love tale reaches a halt when a severe change leads to Hari's incarceration. He looks for vengeance and unexpectedly encounters Juliet one day, noticing a young girl with her.

“Did you believe I wouldn't come back?” he asked. He also discovers that Juliet requires a significant amount of money for a health emergency. Hari comes up with a plan: he would steal, and she would be the driver. However, this is easier to say than to accomplish, as the police close in on him.

What Adivi Sesh Said About The Film?

During the trailer launch press conference, Adivi Sesh stated, It's not the quantity of films we've produced that matters, but the quality of the good films we've created. That's my perspective on life. Dacoit is a movie we created with passion and dedication.

It contains several significant components, but we did not disclose them in the trailer. Viewers will be excited while viewing the movie. The central concept is what someone takes when they experience a broken heart. "We aimed to convey a significant narrative about emotions.

Aamir Khan's Niece Zayn Marie’s Role In Dacoit

Zayn, recognized for her roles in series such as Made In Heaven Season 2 and Feels Like Ishq, portrays a police officer working alongside Kashyap's character.

Adivi Sesh revealed that Zayn Marie was selected solely due to her audition, without any knowledge of her family's connections to film.

Mrunal Thakur Recent Movie

Mrunal Thakur recently appeared in Do Deewane Seher Mein alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi. Unfortunately, the film earned only Rs 7-8 Crore at the box office. Thus, it is considered a box office flop as it didn’t even cover its production budget which is around Rs 25-30 Crore.

Do Deewane Seher Mein competed with Taapsee Pannu movie ‘Assi’ which was released on the same day (20 Feb 2026) in theaters.

Made on a budget of Rs 40 Crore, Assi was also a box office flop as it earned around Rs 10-11 Crore.

Can Dacoit Become A Top Box Office Opener?

Dacoit is anticipated to have a disappointing debut at the Indian box office, possibly falling short of making it into the top 3 Tollywood openers of 2026.

To secure a spot among the top 3 Telugu openers of the year, it needs to exceed Anaganaga Oka Raju (5.5 crore), which seems somewhat challenging since there are no holiday advantages this Friday.

It is expected to take the fourth position by exceeding Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi (2.6 crore).
