Ranveer Singh's film Dhurandhar The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) surpassed the Rs 100 crore milestone on its first day, generating Rs 102.55 crore from 21,728 screenings nationwide, making it the biggest Bollywood opener of all time.

It exceeded the first day earnings of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, becoming not just the highest-opening Hindi movie but also the sole A-rated Indian film to reach such an impressive Day 1 figure.

With Rs 43 crore earned from paid previews, Dhurandhar 2 overall box office collection now totals Rs 145.5 crore.

Story Of Dhurandhar 2

The sequel starts right after the thrilling ending of the first part. Ranveer Singh reprises his role as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a soldier from the Punjab Regiment who becomes a spy, called Hamza.

The story moves to the harsh underbelly of Karachi, as Hamza maneuvers through a tangled network of terror financing and intelligence conflict. Assigned to break apart the terror networks behind the 26/11 attacks, Hamza confronts the tough Major Iqbal (portrayed by Arjun Rampal) while maneuvering through a city teetering on the edge of a gang war between Baloch and Pathan groups.

A considerable amount of the budget has been allocated to premium VFX and real location filming to replicate the intense ambiance of Karachi. The movie has already gained a substantial Rs 245 crore from non-theatrical rights (Digital, Satellite, and Music), indicating it enters the box office competition in a strong financial state.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge has received an 'A' (adults only) certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with an official runtime of 232 minutes, equating to 3 hours and 52 minutes. The follow-up is roughly 30 minutes lengthier than the original film, Dhurandhar, which had a duration of about 214 minutes.

Salim Siddiqui Received Appreciation For His Role As Atiq Ahmed. We all know that when Dhuradhar Part 1 came, Akshaye Khanna was all over the internet as Rehman Dakait. Now, Actor Salim Siddiqui received appreciation from the audience for essaying the role inspired by Atiq Ahmed in Dhurandhar 2.

Salim Siddiqui is recognized for his contributions to films and web series. He has featured in well-known series such as Mirzapur, Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, Bambai Meri Jaan, and Special Ops. He has previously appeared on screen alongside Vikrant Massey in other roles.

Who was Atiq Ahmed?

Atiq Ahmed was among India’s most infamous gangster-politicians. Atiq Ahmed faced close to 160 criminal cases filed against him. Even while in custody for multiple years, he persisted in running for elections. In 2019, he was found guilty in a kidnapping case associated with the 2005 killing of his political adversary, Raju Pal.

Ahmed began his political career in 1989 by securing the Allahabad West assembly seat as an independent candidate. He went on to win several elections and became a five-time Member of the Legislative Assembly. Subsequently, he became a member of the Samajwadi Party and carried on with his political journey.

In 2019, Atiq Ahmed ran as an independent candidate in the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi, opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and obtaining 833 votes.

On April 15, 2023, Atiq Ahmed and his sibling Ashraf were killed at close range in Prayagraj while police escorted them for a medical examination.
