About Padayappa Film

Padayappa features Sivaji Ganesan in one of his last roles as the father, Dharmalingam, of Rajinikanth’s main character. Rajinikanth portrayed Aaru Padayappan in the movie, and Soundarya starred as his wife, Vasundhara.
Ramya’s Neelambari serves as the primary antagonist in the movie, characterized as a determined and contemporary woman who harbors resentment towards the couple for many years.
Padayappa is memorable for the character of the manipulative Neelambari whose confrontation with Rajinikanth is the pivotal element of the plot.

Padayappa Re Release In Theaters
The 1999 hit movie was aired only a few times. It was not accessible on any streaming service. All of this occurred because Rajinikanth — the main actor, producer, and storyteller of Padayappa — meticulously protected it from public scrutiny.
"I did not grant the rights to any broadcasting player, even after several requests." I desired for people to view it exclusively on the large screen. “It ought to be a kondattam (celebration) for fans on my 50th year in cinema,” Rajinikanth stated in a special video shared recently.
25 years following its original release, Padayappa Re Release in theaters on Rajinikanth’s birthday (December 12). The movie featured Sivaji Ganesan, Ramya Krishnan, Soundarya, and Abbas, among others, in leading roles.
Rajinikanth Confirms Padayappa 2
Rajinikanth shared a 37-minute video where he reflects on his experiences filming and Padayappa Re Release in theaters. Reflecting on the frenzy the movie generated, he comments in the video, “In my 50 years in the industry, I’ve never witnessed women storming through gates to see a film like they did for Padayappa.”
He then declared a follow-up for the movie and remarked, “Now, seeing sequels like 2.0 (the follow-up to Robo) and Jailer 2, I question why Padayappa 2 isn't made? The title will be Padayappa 2: Neelambari. We are talking about the narrative, and if it turns out great, similar to Padayappa, there will be a Neelambari. The audience will find it thrilling, and I’m currently developing it.”
Padayappa’s legend refuses to fade — and now, with a new chapter on the way, the fire has been lit once again. Thalaivar is ready with the Padayappa Re Release announcement and the celebration has only just begun.
