The movie is about honoring the ancestors by reaching the island of Motufetu in order to unite civilizations from different lands. This time, Moana is now an official Wayfinder and has grown up since we last saw her. Maui, the demigod, Kele, Moni, and Loto are with her, as well as the cute animal companions from the original story, the chicken and the pig.
Reaching Motufetu island is difficult due to a curse from an evil deity named Nalo. The obstacles encountered by Moana's crew serve to bring them closer to accomplishing their mission. Currently, the responsibility falls on Moana rather than the demigod Maui to lift the curse on the submerged island, as it requires human contact.
During a moment of need, Maui's powers vanish and he tumbles into the ocean alongside Moana's crew who are encountering challenges. However, she eventually discovers a path leading into the ocean and makes contact with the island.
Due to the effect of the human touch, she faints, leading the viewers to believe she has passed away. However, in a traditional Disney film, she is revived and acquires her own unique abilities.
Performances:
Since the movie is animated and perfect in all aspects, we must focus on evaluating the voice actors' performances. The film is a musical journey, which implies that the voices responsible for the animation had a greater sense of duty.
Auli’i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson delivered outstanding performances, as anticipated. Each actor excellently portrayed the emotions of their character, even nailing the high notes during their musical performances. Awihimai Fraser definitely deserves recognition for her performance as Matangi in the sequel, effortlessly portraying the enigmatic villain.
What is effective for Moana
The film is visually stunning, with cinematography being a major highlight in the sequel, maintaining the exceptional standard set by the animators in the original. It was difficult to look away from the screen and not focus entirely on what was happening in the movie, whether it was the ocean, her ancestors, the obstacles, or the inside of the giant clam.
Besides that, Maui's presence, accompanied by his animated tattoos, remained appealing throughout the entire duration he appeared on screen. We once again witnessed the remarkable bond between him and Moana. Expanding on the clever demeanor shown in the previous film, the writers successfully maintained the charisma of Dwayne Johnson's character. His request to get a Chee Hoo was so amusing that it was impossible to resist responding.

What doesn't succeed for Moana
The initial section of Moana made a significant impression on the viewers. This resulted in them having years of eager expectation for the follow-up. It was only natural for expectations to be elevated. The film began with excitement, giving viewers a burst of energy. Still, the movie lacked sufficient complexity as Moana neared the end of her journey to conquer the island and fulfill her mission. The audience should have felt the same excitement as the original, but unfortunately, the timing of the critical moment fell short, resulting in a disappointing outcome.
Summary Judgment
The story was a triumph, depicting authentic and emotionally intense familial connections. It was also successful in causing the viewers to giggle and chuckle. The creators have made use of every opportunity possible to elicit laughter from the audience. The cuteness of the pig or Moana's sister Simea is worth mentioning.
Watching Moana 2 is recommended, especially in theaters to fully experience the range of emotions in the sequel's storyline.
