Reports have been circulating about Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya, affectionately known as Chay, and actor Sobhita Dhulipala dating over the past few years, with recent reports suggesting they are set to get engaged. It has been exclusively confirmed that these reports are true, and the engagement is scheduled for August 8.
According to sources close to Chay, the engagement will take place on Thursday around noon. It will be a private and intimate ceremony held at Nagarjuna’s home in the evening. Nagarjuna is expected to be the first to share the news on social media. Attendees will include Amala Akkineni and Akhil, Chay’s brother, along with Sobhita’s parents. The ceremony will take place at Nagarjuna's luxurious residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, a notable landmark similar to Shah Rukh Khan's home in Bandra. Fans often visit the Jubilee Hills home, which spans over 4000 square feet, hoping to see the star.
A source from Geetha Arts confirmed that the shooting for the movie "Thandel," in which Chay stars alongside Sai Pallavi, has been canceled for August 8. The shooting is currently taking place in Hyderabad, and Chay is expected to resume filming on Friday.
Naga Chaitanya was previously married to actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, with whom he separated in October 2021. Chay (37) and Sobhita (32) have been dating for several years, and it appears Chay’s family approves of his relationship. At a movie event, Nagarjuna spoke highly of Sobhita, saying, “She was so good in the film. I mean, I should not say it like this, but she was hot in the film. Meanwhile, Samantha has been busy promoting her series "Citadel" with Varun Dhawan. Samantha and Chay married on October 6 and 7, 2017, in Goa. Their marriage lasted four years before they announced their separation in October 2021.
