Last year on Sonakshi's birthday, Zaheer shared a series of adorable photos from their time on set and various outings. "Kuch toh log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna. Neways....You can always lean on me. You are the best. Keep 'Roaring' and soaring always. May u see more of the world than anyone ever has. May u always live the mermaid life. Always be HAPPY. I love you," he wrote.

Recently, on an episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featuring the cast of Heeramandi, Kapil Sharma asked Sonakshi about her marriage plans, noting that Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani had recently tied the knot. Sonakshi joked, "Jale par namak chidak rahe ho," adding that she is eager to get married.

Both actors made their Bollywood debuts in Salman Khan films. Sonakshi debuted with Dabangg in 2010, while Zaheer's first film was Notebook in 2019. They starred together in Double XL.

Sonakshi was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom, exploring the cultural reality of Heeramandi through the stories of courtesans and their patrons.

The wedding guest list reportedly includes close friends, family, and the entire cast of Heeramandi. The wedding invitation resembles a magazine cover with the text "the rumours are true." Guests are requested to dress formally for the ceremony, which will take place at Bastian in Mumbai.
