Bollywood is the perfect example of how beauty is just not enough at times to make it big in Bollywood. But there are some Bollywood actresses that despite having the gorgeous looks failed to impress the audience and set their mark in Bollywood. Some of them did deliver great hits but then had a major downfall.

RIYA SEN

Appeared in a series of Hindi movies and music videos, the granddaughter of the acclaimed Bengali and Hindi movie actress Suchitra Sen, Riya failed to impress anyone with her acting. She has also tried her luck in many South Indian movies. Jhankar Beats, Hinglish, and Shaadi no 1 are few of her movies, she even got a chance with a few Bollywood movies but could never get the desired name or fame.

SOHA ALI KHAN

Soha Ali Khan is the daughter of the Bollywood megastar Sharmila Tagore and sister to the nawaab of Bollywood Saif Ali Khan. She first appeared on screen next to Shahid Kapoor in the movie Dil Maange More. She has also starred in movies like Rang De Basanti, Tum Mile etc. Even after doing a number of films with Bollywood she does not seem to have inherited her mother’s acting skills. She is now married to her long-time boyfriend Kunal Khemu and has recently released her book. The duo also has a beautiful baby girl together.

CELINA JAITLEY

The Miss World in the year 2001 and the fourth runner-up in Miss Universe, Celina surely has a number of pageants in her bag. However, she failed miserably to set her mark in Bollywood. She has acted in a couple of Bollywood movies like No Entry, Golmaal Returns, and Tom Dick and Harry. She is currently married and is the mother of twin boys and she is based out in Singapore. But her acting career was long gone before her marriage even with her hot and sexy looks.

GENELIA D’SOUZA

This cute girl who made her Bollywood debut with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na alongside Imran Khan was adored by the audience for her bubbly and cute looks. Unfortunately, that is not what all you need to stay in Bollywood. The actress failed when it came to acting and that meant an end to her acting career. Although she did act in many Telegu movies that gave her more fame and recognition than her Hindi movies. The actress is currently married to Ritesh Deshmukh.

Daughter of Bollywood’s own dream-girl Hema Malini and megastar Dharmendra, Esha could not impress anyone with her acting. She made her debut in 2002 in the movie ‘Koi Mere Dil se Poochhe’ which fetched her a Filmfare for the best female debutant of the year. She has also acted in many Kannada and Telegu movies. She has been a part of a number of Hindi movies like No Entry, Main Aisa Hi Hoon, Dhoom, Insan, and Kaal. She has also acted along with many Bollywood top shot actors like Ajay Devgn, Salman Khan, and Akshay Kumar. Despite all this Esha could not keep up with Bollywood.

Initially, in for journalism, Minissha tried her luck in acting and failed terribly. Making her debut in 2005 with Yahan she acted in many other Hindi movies like Bheja Fry, Bachna Ae Haseeno, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd. And Well Done Abba. She has acted next to some big names in Bollywood like Ranbir Kapoor but it all went down the drain as none of it could help her with keeping up in Bollywood. She has also been a part of the very famous reality show Bigg Boss and was a part of it in the 8th season.

AYESHA TAKIA AZMI

This beautiful actress started her Bollywood career with Tarzan: the wonder car opposite Vatsal Seth. That year she won the award for the best female debutant for this movie. She then bagged another Screen award in 2006 for her role in the movie Dor. She acted along Bollywood’s ‘bhai’ Salman Khan in the very famous and the blockbuster movie Wanted which was directed by the very talented Prabhudeva. Her acting in Telegu movies also bagged her many awards but her career in Bollywood was short lived.

AMEESHA PATEL

Definitely one of the most beautiful actresses in Bollywood ever, Ameesha, a trained Bharatnatyam dancer was a major hit at one point. She grabbed all eyes in her movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, opposite to Hrithik Roshan. She also was a hit for her role in the movie Gadar- Ek Prem Katha, where she played the role of a Pakistani girl who falls in love with an Indian boy. Her role opposite to Bobby Deol and Akshay Khanna in Humraaz also bagged her a nomination for the best actress award. Her career was never a cakewalk and ended shortly.

This cute pretty, petty and jolly girl of Bollywood was everyone’s favorite at one time. She has some amazing movies like Veer Zaara, Kal Ho Na Ho AND Salaam Namaste under her name. she has also won the best female debutant award for her movies Dil Se and Soldier. Her short-lived career ended and she tried to make a comeback with the movie ‘Ishq in Paris’ but no one even knew when the movie came and went. She also tried her luck with several Punjabi, Telegu and English movies but failed here as well. She is now the co-owner of an IPL team has many controversies surrounding her that keep her in the limelight.

SHRUTI HASSAN

Although a very prominent name in the South Indian movie industry, Shruti could not make her mark in the Hindi movie industry. She is the daughter of the south Indian megastar Kamal Hassan and Sarika, but even that influence could not get her any good roles in Bollywood. Her first movie in Bollywood was luck which failed miserably to impress anyone. She also tried changing her looks for getting the desired fame but all ended up with the same result for her. Although she did gain some recognition when she tried her hand at singing in Bollywood. She has movies like Rocky Handsome, Ramayya Vasthavayya and Gabbas is back in her name.

Although all these actresses failed to make their mark in the industry they will always have a place in our hearts reserved for them. They would have sizzled the screen with their performances only if they had a better hand at acting. Stay tuned.
