What Is The Story Of Peddi?
Situated in a village in Vizianagaram in the 1990s, Peddi (Ram Charan) is a freelance cricketer who competes for any team that offers him payment.
The village he considers home lacks an official designation and is not listed in government documents. Peddi is also infatuated with Achiyamma (Janhvi Kapoor), the daughter of the village sarpanch. Appalasuri (Jagapathi Babu) is an idealist with a lifelong aspiration to establish a railway stop for their overlooked village. After years of unwavering effort, he is unable to achieve it. Next is Peddi's quest as he embraces Appalasuri's mission and strives tirelessly to achieve that vision.
His wrestling abilities play a vital role in the battle, the sacrifices he endures throughout, and his evolution from a hired competitor into a genuine athlete lies at the core of the narrative. His mentor, Gavarnaidu (Shiva Rajkumar), is guiding him through this journey.

1. Ram Charan: Male lead Ram Charan is outstanding in the entire film. He completely involves himself in the character both physically and emotionally. His body transformation into a Pehelwan physique is one of the golden points for the movie.
2. Janhvi Kapoor: The film entirely focuses on Ram Charan’s character. Janhvi Kapoor as Achiyyamma is the love interest of Peddi Pehelwan. She looks more like Devara’s Thangam than Achiyyamma.
3. Divyendu Sharma: Divyendu is known for Mirzapur and in Peddi he serves as a prominent rival of Ram Charan. He makes a strong impression in the beginning but his character doesn't contribute much to the overall story later on.
4. Shiva Rajkumar: Kannada Superstar Shiva plays a wrestling master in the Peddi movie as Gournaidu. He plays a significant role in the movie by guiding Peddi Pehelwan in his journey.

5. Jagapathi Babu: Known for his fierce villain portrayal in Ram Charan’s “Rangasthalam,” takes on a drastically different character in this instance. As a community member advocating for his village's progress, he adds significant emotional depth to the story, especially in the sections before the intermission.
6. Boman Irani: Boman Irani's character appears to be primarily irrational. Despite the film having a sizable ensemble cast, many of the supporting actors have minimal opportunities to stand out.
Overall, all the cast members performed very well in the Peddi movie. Made on a budget of Rs 350 Crore, let’s check what people are saying after watching the film.

Shameless shots of her naval and chest. No care for consent. Moral stance of a saviour while constantly ogling and letching at her!
Is Peddi A Worth Watching - Our POV
Yes, Telugu film Peddi is a one-time watch entertainer. If you want to experience sports action, emotions, and love at the same time, then Peddi is a must watch for you. So, book your tickets now on BookMyShow!
Peddi Advance Booking
Peddi sold more than 82 lakh tickets throughout India the day prior to its launch. Sacnilk announced that the movie earned more than Rs 20 crore in India on its first day before the initial screenings had started. Including the blocked seats, the amount rises to a remarkable Rs 33 crore. This success is primarily attributed to the original Telugu version, while other language dubs have largely fallen flat.
The Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions made just Rs 75 lakh in pre-sales. The movie just fell short of achieving a new record for Ram Charan. The early reservations for his last movie, Game Changer, nearly reached Rs 27 crore.
Telugu Film Peddi Box Office Day 1 Prediction
Nonetheless, Peddi is ready for a strong debut at the box office. Market analysts suggest that once the totals from paid previews are included, Peddi is likely to generate Rs 60 crore net (over Rs 70 crore gross) in India on its first day.
This would rank as the third-highest opening for an Indian movie in 2026, following Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar The Revenge (Rs 102 crore) and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab (Rs 62 crore). Nevertheless, the amount could surpass several blockbuster movies, including the original Dhurandhar ( Rs 30 crore) and Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan ( Rs 57 crore).
According to Peddi reviews, it succeeds because of Ram Charan's powerful performance, emotional storytelling, and strong sports drama moments. While the film has a few flaws, it still delivers an entertaining big-screen experience and is worth watching for fans of commercial Telugu cinema.
