Once again, it's time to play the detective game as Ajay Devgn returns with his crime thriller, ‘Drishyam 3’. On Monday, the actor confirmed that the movie would premiere in theaters on 'Dhurandhar' day, which is October 2, 2026.

Using his handle, Devgn hinted at fans by stating, "Aakhri hissa baaki hai." According to reports, the movie is expected to be the concluding installment of the successful franchise featuring the actor in the role of Vijay Salgaonkar.
About Drishyam Franchise
The Drishyam series started in 2015 as a Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam movie of the same title. Helmed by the late Nishikant Kamat, the initial film centered on Vijay Salgaonkar, a cable TV operator from Goa who leverages his passion for films and keen intellect to safeguard his family after an unforeseen crime disrupts their lives. The follow-up, Drishyam 2, launched in 2022 and elevated the franchise, establishing Vijay Salgaonkar as one of Hindi cinema’s most intriguing anti-heroes.

The initial installment of the 'Drishyam' franchise was a commercial success. The movie grossed Rs 110.40 crores globally and achieved a net domestic revenue of Rs 68.66 crores, with a reported budget of Rs 48 crores.
The follow-up turned out to be an even greater success, as the film garnered an estimated domestic revenue of Rs 239.67 crore net, alongside a global gross of Rs 342 crore. Now, all eyes are on Drishyam 3. Will the third part smash its own record?
Will Akshaye Khanna Return After Dhurabdhar Success?
Nonetheless, it remains unclear if Akshaye Khanna - currently thriving from the success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar - is still uncertain. Akshaye Khanna gained significant appreciation for his role as a shrewd, unwavering police officer in Drishyam.
The creators, however, did not verify whether his role will appear in Drishyam 3. Information regarding the film's trailer is similarly being kept secret, with a formal announcement anticipated around 2026.
