Huma Qureshi’s Bayaan Creates History

Huma Qureshi has portrayed various characters from comedic roles to glamorous divas, but this marks her first performance as a serious investigative officer. The movie's creators just published the Bayaan poster on Instagram along with the news that the film has been selected to make its premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival in 2025. As the only Indian film to be screened in the festival's Discovery Section, it has created history.

Indian Movies At TIFF 

Many major Indian movies have been featured at the Toronto International Film Festival in recent years. Neeraj Ghaywan’s Homebound, featuring actors Ishaan Khattr and Janhvi Kapoor, received international acclaim and endorsement from Martin Scorsese.

Superboys of Malegaon, an entertaining movie by Reema Kagti, was well-received at TIFF 2024. Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies debuted at TIFF 2023. That same year, Dharma Productions' Kill excited viewers, whereas Dear Jassi received accolades for its heartfelt real-life narrative.

At TIFF 2025, Bobby Deol's Bandar, which was directed by Anurag Kashyap, will also make its premiere. A revitalized edition of Sholay will be presented, celebrating its 50th anniversary.
