Storyline of Hari Hara Veera Mallu Movie

Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part1 – Sword vs Spirit is a fictional & historical action-adventure film. In this movie, Veera Mallu is given a mission to steal the Koh-i‑Noor diamond from the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film opens in a mining town (Kollur Mines), where Veera Mallu's bravery and cleverness are first seen.

Qutub Shah tasks her with retrieving the Kohi‑i‑Noor, and the story becomes an exciting journey involving secret missions, romance (Nidhih Agerwal's character Panchami), and royal trappings. As per the trailer and initial reviews, the first half of the film is packed with action, historical background and Pawan Kalyan's impressive performance but the second half shows weak VFX and the story drags.

The story is a blend of history and fiction where Veera Mallu not only steals a diamond but also takes on the Mughal Empire for dharma, justice and freedom. Though it is being appreciated for its brilliant technical presentation and music, some viewers are upset with its weak plot and lack of VFX.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a very ambitious period action & adventure drama film, the first part of which – Sword vs Spirit – gets off to a strong start. The sheer grandeur of the action, music and set design keep the audience engaged for the first few hours. But technical and narrative issues like weak VFX, long take-offs and disorganised script become apparent in the second half.

Some reviews say - “Second half feels like a completely different movie” and viewers wrote on X (Twitter): “Solid script ruined by poor execution… editing bad, VFX outright terrible & second half poorly handled.” Fans and critics alike have questioned the weakness of the screenplay, lip-sync and outdated direction. Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a mega production estimated to cost around Rs 300 crore. On its first day of release on 24 July, the film grossed Rs 8.68 crore net in India due to multi-language screenings, as reported by trade website Sacnilk. Despite a positive response from the initial premiere shows and advance bookings, the overall day figures came in at Rs 8.68 crore, indicating a moderate opening.

The film's big budget and heavy expenses like sets, VFX and cast will require a strong run to break even. Hence, the family weekend and word-of-mouth discussions will be very important so that the film can cover its expenses and prove to be a commercial success.
