Who Is Ujjwal Nikam?

Born on March 30, 1953, Indian special public prosecutor Ujjwal Deorao Nikam is renowned for his efforts in high-profile murder and terrorist cases.

Renowned lawyer Ujjwal Nikam has represented Maharashtra in a number of court cases. His most prominent roles were as Special Public Prosecutor in the 1991 Bombay bombing case and in Ajmal Kasab's trial for the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Mr. Nikam has operated under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act for the entirety of his long career.

Mr. Nikam's contributions to the legal profession have earned him multiple honors. He replaced Poonam Mahajan as the BJP's candidate for the Mumbai North constituency in Maharashtra in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
