Actor Sonu Sood once again demonstrated his commitment to helping those in need by assisting an Indian family in repatriating the mortal remains of their relative, who passed away while working in Saudi Arabia. On Tuesday, Sonu took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the news and offer his sincere condolences to the grieving family.
The Incident
Earlier this month, an X user, @bravo7781, reached out to Sonu Sood with a plea for help. The user revealed that his uncle, employed at the Saudi Cement Hofuf plant, had tragically died of a heart attack. Desperate to bring his uncle's body back to India, the user requested the actor’s assistance in navigating the complexities of repatriation from Saudi Arabia.
Sonu’s Swift Action
In response, Sonu quickly took action. On Tuesday, he updated the situation by sharing a photo of the deceased man's resident identity card on his X account. Sonu confirmed that the mortal remains were on their way to Hyderabad, with an expected arrival at the airport by 4:35 PM the same day. He also expressed his gratitude to Girish Pant, a fellow supporter, for his assistance in the process. Sonu closed his message by once again extending his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The initial appeal was made on August 2, when @bravo7781 had tweeted details about the tragic situation, tagging Sonu Sood in the hope of receiving his help. In his plea, the user described how his uncle had died of a heart attack while working in Saudi Arabia and how his body was currently at King Faisal General Hospital. Sonu responded promptly, reassuring the user that he was already in communication with the necessary authorities and would do his best to ensure that the body was brought back to India.

Sonu’s Continued Humanitarian Efforts
This is not the first time Sonu Sood has gone out of his way to help those in need. He became widely recognized for his humanitarian work during the COVID-19 pandemic when he organized transportation for thousands of stranded migrant workers, helping them return to their homes. Whether through arranging charter flights or buses, Sonu made sure that those in need were not forgotten during the difficult times of the lockdown.
More recently, Sonu used his platform to appeal to the citizens of India to assist in rescuing fellow Indians stranded in Bangladesh. He shared a video of an Indian woman who detailed the threats she and others were facing in Bangladesh, expressing her desire to return to India. In his tweet, Sonu urged everyone to contribute to bringing these individuals back home, emphasizing that it was not only the government's responsibility but also a collective duty of all Indians.
Upcoming Projects
In addition to his humanitarian work, Sonu Sood is set to appear in the upcoming film "Fateh," where he stars alongside Naseeruddin Shah and Jacqueline Fernandez. Scheduled for release on January 10, 2025, "Fateh" will mark Sonu's directorial debut and will explore real-life cybercrime incidents. The film is being produced under the banner of Zee Studios and Shakti Sagar Productions.
