Pawan Singh, also known as Powerstar, is a renowned Indian playback singer, actor, music composer, and stage performer primarily working in the Bhojpuri Film Industry. He earned acclaim for his musical talents and has received two International Bhojpuri Film Awards. Recognized as one of the top singers in the Bhojpuri film scene, Singh has starred in notable films like "Pratigya" (2008), "Satya" (2017), "Crack Fighter" (2019), "Raja" (2019), "Sher Singh" (2019), "Mera Bharat Mahaan" (2022), and "Har Har Gange" (2023).

Early life and education

Pawan Singh, born on January 5, 1986, in Jokahri village near Arrah, Bihar, hails from a musical background, having learned singing from his uncle, Shri Ajit Singh. He pursued his education at H.N.K (+2) School, Arrah. Singh's passion for singing blossomed from a young age, earning him the moniker "Power Star of the Bhojpuri Industry" among his dedicated fanbase, owing to his exceptional vocal talents.

Music Career

Singh's journey in the music industry began in his childhood, performing in stage shows and lending his voice to Bhojpuri-language pop albums. His debut album, "Odhaniya Wali," was released in 1997, marking the start of his musical career. Transitioning to acting, he made his debut in the 2004 film "Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam," later stepping into lead roles in subsequent projects like "Lollipop Lageli" (2008) and "Dont Touch My Body" (2008), which garnered widespread recognition.

In 2020, Singh ventured into Bollywood with the song "Kamariya Hila Rahi Hai," featuring Lauren Gottlieb. Following this, he released singles like "Babuni Tere Rang Me" and "Current," showcasing his versatility. In 2021, he collaborated with Sonu Nigam for a Chhath song and released Bhojpuri cover versions of popular Bollywood tracks like "Lut Gaye" and "Barish Ban Jana." He also remade the iconic Hindi song "Tumsa Koi Pyara" from the film "Raja Babu" (1994) in Bhojpuri. Continuing his musical journey, his single "Jindagi" with Haryanvi singer Renuka Panwar further solidified his position in the industry.

Personal life

Singh tied the knot with Neelam Singh in 2014 in an intimate ceremony, graced by family, friends, and prominent figures from the Bhojpuri industry. Tragically, Neelam passed away by suicide at their residence on 8 March 2015. In 2018, Singh remarried Jyoti Singh in a private affair in Ballia, with only close family and associates in attendance. However, their marriage hit a rough patch, leading Singh to file for divorce from Jyoti in 2022. The divorce proceedings are yet to conclude as Singh has declined to proceed further with the legal separation.
