The firing incident involving Tiger Shroff has sent a wave of concern through Bollywood. Actors, directors, producers and their security teams are all becoming more cautious, and the unease grows with every new report of threats. From Shah Rukh Khan’s heavily guarded birthday at Mannat to a fresh threat reported against Tusshar Kapoor, the industry is rethinking how its biggest names stay safe.
Growing Threats Add to the UneaseThe worry did not begin with a single event. Reports of earlier threats had already created tension in the film fraternity, and the firing incident has intensified it. The latest development is a threat said to have been received by Tusshar Kapoor. Police are currently verifying whether it is genuine or a hoax. Even so, the timing has led celebrities and their teams to treat every such report more seriously than before.
Celebrities Are Asking for More Security CoverActor Ronit Roy, who runs his own private security company, confirmed to NDTV that demand for tighter cover among celebrities has gone up. According to him, the steps being taken are preventive, with everyone wanting to be careful and feel protected.
NDTV also spoke with several security personnel associated with celebrity protection, who asked not to be named. They confirmed that arrangements for their clients have been strengthened since the firing. This suggests the changes are not limited to a few names but are being felt across the circle of people who guard film stars.
“Everyone Is Afraid”: Film Bodies Voice Concern
The fear has spread well beyond actors. B N Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), told NDTV that everyone in the industry is on alert, whether they are actors, directors or producers. He pointed out that the incident happened suddenly, in broad daylight, in front of many people and right outside a police station, which is what made it so shocking. Tiwari said artists may not show their fear openly, but it is being felt by everyone, from big directors and producers to actors, because life is precious to all.
Shah Rukh Khan’s Birthday at Mannat Shows the Change
Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday celebrations at Mannat on November 2 gave a visible glimpse of the new security approach.
- Police personnel were deployed in large numbers.
- The entire lane outside his residence was heavily guarded.
- Fans were initially not allowed to gather outside the bungalow.
Later that evening, SRK made a special appearance, arriving at Mannat with his family to greet his fans. It was unlike his usual birthday appearances. He kept a considerable distance from the crowd and did not come close to the boundary wall or stand on the specially constructed staircase. Instead, he waved to fans from the terrace of his residence.
Reports Name Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar
There have also been reports that the shooters involved in the Tiger Shroff firing incident had conducted reconnaissance of the residences of several Bollywood stars. Those named include Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. These remain reports, but they have added to concerns about celebrity safety and help explain why even the industry’s most established names are taking extra care.
Demand for Government Action
The All India Senior Workers Association has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding foolproof security for Bollywood celebrities. The letter shows how the issue has moved beyond individual stars and private security teams and become a wider public demand.
