What Is The Story Of Operation Safed Sagar?
Operation Safed Sagar centers on Squadron Leader Ajay Ahuja (Siddharth), who is contacted by his friend, Wing Commander B.S. Dhanoa, known as Tony (Jimmy Sheirgill), to instruct new pilots in his group, the Golden Arrows.
Ahuja maintains high standards for each young pilot in the team but ultimately transforms into their mentor and a genuine source of inspiration. Throughout this time, PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee is engaged in a peace agreement with Pakistan.
Nevertheless, General Musharraf opposes this agreement since he desires Kashmir. The Indian government rejects discussions regarding Kashmir, prompting Musharraf to initiate a mission with his officers, dispatched as Mujahideen into Kashmir. They seize high points that are nearly impossible for the IAF and the Indian Army to capture.

Netflix series Operation Safed Sagar released on 7 Aug 2026. On its 10th anniversary in India, Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that Operation Safed Sagar, Netflix's largest production in India thus far, added over $24 million to the Indian economy, the company stated in a release.
The production engaged over 850 local businesses, more than 200 cast and crew members, and 4,000 daily workers for filming that lasted 115 days across 11 cities, such as Patiala, Gwalior, Chandigarh, Bikaner, and several more.
Netflix collaborated with 15 VFX studios based in India, involving around 1,200 artists to create close to 50 minutes of aerial scenes included in the series. These partnerships in VFX and creative technology alone added over $5 million to India's economy, representing 20 percent of the overall economic contribution from the production.
