What is The Story Of Every Year After?

Central to Every Year After are Persephone "Percy" Fraser (Sadie Soverall) and Sam Florek (Matt Cornett), two childhood friends whose bond gradually evolves into first love during a memorable series of summers in Barry's Bay. Percy comes to the lakeside town as a stranger, yet she swiftly discovers a sense of belonging with Sam. They spend years confiding in each other, viewing horror films, pursuing ambitions, and handling the complicated feelings of maturing.

The narrative shifts between the past and the present. Via flashbacks, we observe the development of Percy and Sam's relationship over six summers. Currently, Percy is compelled to go back to Barry's Bay after Charlie Florek (Michael Bradway) tells her that his mother, Sue Florek (Elisha Cuthbert), has died. This is the first occasion she has arrived in the town in more than ten years.

The series gradually reveals the incident that broke their bond, transforming that unresolved query into the emotional enigma that propels the whole season.

Every Year After Review - Audience POV

As the Prime Video dropped Every Year After series, fans started sharing their opinions on social media. Let’s read what they have written!

A user wrote, “I just saw Every Year After and tbh I kinda liked this coming of age teen show. Between this and Off Campus, I liked watching these characters and going through their struggles and journeys. The way it ended made me interested in Season 2.”

Another wrote, “Now I’m done. My review of Ever Year After is I loved it. They adapted the most important parts of the story and the chemistry between Sam and Percy was off the charts. I did dislike the amount of side characters eating up too much screen time.  But overall, I loved it.”

Overall, Every Year After is a sweet and emotional romance drama that shines because of the chemistry between Percy and Sam.

While the pacing feels slow in some episodes and a few side characters get unnecessary screen time, the heartwarming story and nostalgic vibe make it a worthwhile watch for romance lovers.
