About Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 Story

Taking place one year after the original film, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 features Josh Hutcherson returning as the lead character Mike Schmidt, while Elizabeth Lail reprises her role as police officer Vanessa Shelly, who is also the daughter of the antagonist William Afton.

Vanessa and Mike have tried hard to protect Mike's younger sister Abby (Piper Rubio) from the reality of what truly occurred at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. Eventually, Abby vanishes (presumably seeking to reunite with her animatronic companions), compelling Mike and Vanessa to go back to the haunted pizzeria, where they must confront their own personal struggles to rescue Abby.

Even though Vanessa's father (the serial killer William Afton, portrayed by Matthew Lillard) was abandoned in an animatronic rabbit costume at the conclusion of the first film, he used his last words to vow vengeance against Mike and Vanessa.

It appears that this is precisely the case, as the trailer features several quick glimpses of Springtrap brandishing a knife and staggering down a dimly lit corridor. The trailer also features other well-known characters from the game series, such as Balloon Boy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and of course, the main character Freddy Fazbear himself.

Five Nights At Freddy’s Success

The initial movie, which grossed $297 million worldwide, showcased Hutcherson portraying a security officer at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. It went on to be Blumhouse's top-grossing film of all time. Hutcherson mentioned that last year that the immense success came as a surprise.

“Hutcherson mentioned that they anticipated it would resonate with viewers.” “However, I believe that no one, including us, anticipated it to resonate in the manner that it ultimately did.”

Hutcherson suggested to Esquire that the sequel would be "more terrifying." “More animatronics are being introduced, various new animatronics are coming in, and the universe expands significantly,” he told the publication.
