The trailer of Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh’s romantic movie Gustaakh Ishq begins with the story of Nawabuddin (Vijay Varma), who visits the home of Urdu poet Ajiz (Naseeruddin Shah) in Old Delhi to learn the art of shayari. When he reaches there, he meets Ajiz, and at the same time, Ajiz’s daughter, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh, returns home from school. She is depicted as a schoolteacher.

Ajiz introduces his daughter to Nawabuddin, and soon Vijay falls in love with her. Their love story slowly begins, and as they spend more time together, Fatima also begins to develop feelings for him. However, the story takes an unexpected twist when a misunderstanding creates distance between them.

Fatima starts believing that Vijay came there for robbery, as told by Sharib Hashmi’s character. Heartbroken, the two separate. Towards the end, the trailer shows an emotional scene where Vijay cuts his hand with a blade and faints in the middle of the road.
