Adding to the drama, Sikandar got leaked online before its official release, sparking a major controversy. Trade analysts are calling it a producer’s worst nightmare, and despite efforts to remove pirated versions, the damage was already done.

But is piracy the real reason for the film’s slow box office run, or is the movie itself failing to impress? Let’s break down the numbers, reviews, and everything happening around Sikandar!

Sikandar Review

Overall, Sikandar, apart from Salman Khan's brand, lacks any advantages. The material lacks sufficient excitement to attract neutral viewers to cinemas, resulting in a dismal experience for the film on typical weekdays. Indeed, the Sunday premiere and the Eid break guarantee a spot in the 100 crore club, but that's the minimum anticipated from any grand production today.

Given the large budget and the involvement of Salman Khan, Sikandar was anticipated to dominate the Indian box office; however, that seems unlikely now, as it is projected to finish its run at 125-145 crore net. Thus, it's yet another Eid disappointment for Salman following Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, signaling the decline of the Midas touch the actor once had a few years ago.

Salman Khan Movie Sikandar Leaked Online

In case you didn't know, just hours prior to its official launch, the film was leaked online. Reports indicate that an HD version appeared on multiple sites, raising worries among the producers.

Trade analyst Komal Nahta vehemently criticized the leak, labeling it the worst nightmare for a producer. Reaching out on X (previously Twitter), he expressed, "It's a producer's worst nightmare." A movie is being shared before its official premiere. Regrettably, that occurred last night to Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Sikandar', scheduled for release today in theaters. The producer had the authorities remove the film from 600 sites yesterday, but the damage had already occurred. The multiplication persisted and is still persisting. Reprehensible action that may prove costly for the producer of the Salman-featured film!

Bollywood Movie Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 1

After a long wait, Sikandar, featuring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, finally premiered in theatres on Sunday, March 30, coinciding with the celebratory occasion of Eid.

Nevertheless, the film's first day earnings reached Rs 26 crore, which was below the expectations established by trade analysts, producers, and viewers.

According to Sacnilk, Sikandar achieved only 23.47 percent occupancy for its main Hindi version on Sunday—a surprisingly low number considering the significant pre-release excitement about the film.

Although promoted as Salman's spectacular Eid gift for fans, the film did not perform as well as other recent releases. It did not exceed the opening day earnings of Chhaava, featuring Vicky Kaushal, which garnered Rs 31 crore.

Moreover, it fell short of Salman's earlier hit Tiger Zinda Hai, which had garnered Rs 33 crore on its opening day. Nonetheless, Sikandar succeeded in surpassing the superstar's Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which had debuted at Rs 15 crore.

Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 2

Considering the success of Salman Khan's earlier films, it would be reasonable to anticipate that Sikandar's daily revenue could hover between Rs 50-70 crore.

Sikandar's Box Office earnings on Day 2, however, tell a bleak story. By 9 am, the film earned Rs 60 lakhs on Eid.

Despite the massive hype, Sikandar is struggling to meet expectations at the box office. Whether it's due to piracy, competition, or a lack of audience connection, Salman Khan's Eid blockbuster seems to be facing an uphill battle.
