Pandey's manager Nikita confirmed her death and said, “She died at her home in Uttar Pradesh”. Her team issued a statement, saying they were yet to release an official statement: “We received a call from her family in the morning stating that she is no longer there, and we are trying to contact her family, but unfortunately we have not been able to. We were unable to contact them and that is why we did not publish an official statement. So far, all we know is that she no longer is alive and her body is currently in UP.

Her team added in an earlier statement: “Poonam Pandey, beloved actress, and social media personality, tragically passed away this morning due to cervical cancer, leaving the entertainment industry in shock and mourning. “Her unbreakable spirit amidst her health issues was truly remarkable.” She also wrote that “there is a need for greater awareness and proactive measures against preventable diseases such as cervical cancer."

People were shocked and while many expressed their condolences, others were skeptical and pointed out that she was seen at events just a few days ago and also shared updates on social media. "But she was spotted in Mumbai just three days ago," one fan wrote.

Kangana Ranaut also commented on the news of Poonam Pandey's death and wrote, "This is sad. Losing a young woman to cancer is a disaster." She was last seen in the OTT reality show Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut.
