Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Diana Penty, Selfie, directed by Raj Mehta, had an distressingly low first week at the box office, with collections not even touching Rs. 15 crores after seven days.The film has collected around Rs 13.80 crore net. This satirical comedy-drama never really got off the ground, straight from pre-bookings. From day one, it became clear that the film was headed for a very unfortunate fate. There were number of factors and different factors against the film. Unfortunately for the filmmakers, the factors against the film were much stronger.
The results of Selfiee shocked the entire Indian film industry as no one in their wildest dreams expected a film starring a top billing star, produced by one of the biggest streamers in the industry, to fight for the collection of Rs. 20 crores net worth in his lifetime. To add salt to the wounds, Selfiee is not a niche movie and there was no compromise on promotion or advertising. Other than that, the movie didn't have any issues even before its release i.e. it had a very smooth release and already has another open week to eatill the release of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar.
