Good news for the Delhiites!
The New Delhi Railway station will be upgraded to the International level and will also feature many hotels and restaurants just like the airport, similar to the Aerocity!
It will become a world-class railway station with the facility and looks you can ask for.
The New Delhi Railway is about to be revamped and get a swanky look which will also have a 40-story tower towards the Ajmeri Gate side strictly for commercial use. The area that has been proposed to build is approximately 33 lakh square feet, which is close to 60% of the terminal 3 of the IGI airport.
One of the main reasons for this project is to decongest the Connaught Place area and to connect the surrounding roads to make the travel to and from the station seamless. There will also be a wide pedestrian boulevard from the station to Connaught Place, which will also feature more than 5,000 parking bays across one or more multi-level car parking. The station will have a retail-cum facility of 5,50,000 square feet and the estimated cost for this project is Rs. 6,200 crore as discussed by the Rail Land Development and Authority (RDLA).
