Rishi Kapoor - From Pyaar Hua Iqraar Hua to The Body  - Bollywood movies list


A great Indian actor, director, and producer Rishi Kapoor, born on 4 September 1952 in the family of Hindi cinema. The showman  - Raj Kapoor's son and Prithviraj Kapoor's grandson was the second son in the family. He had siblings  - Rajeev Kapoor,  Ritu Nanda, Randhir and Rima Jain. He started his career as a child artist and worked as a child in his debut role in his father Raj Kapoor's 1970 film Mera Naam Joker  -1970. In this movie,  he portrayed the role of a kid who was walking in the rain with 2 other small children ."Pyaar Hua,  Iqraar Hua", Being born in the cinema family, he started his journey from this song. On 22 January 1980,  He was married to Neetu Singh and later also had two children, Ranbir Kapoor and designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.  In 2018, Rishi got diagnosed with cancer. After battling with cancer for 2 years,  he died on 30 April 2020.

 Bollywood Journey - 1970 - 2020

He started his career as a child artist and got a national film fare award. He did his first lead role in the biggest hit film of Bollywood i.e. Bobby in which Dimple Kapadia worked with him. He also received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1974. From 1973 to 2000, he did 92 films out of which 36 got hit at the box office. In the list of 36 hit films,  he did 11 films - Bobby,  Rafoo Chakkar,  Laila Majnu, Karz,  Sargam,  Prem Rog, Honeymoon,  Nagina,  Chandni, Heena and Bol Radha Bol as solo hero films and 25 were multi-hero films.

His last released film was The body. His last not yet releases film - Sharmaji Namkeen was under production. He did the direction of a film  - Aa Ab Laut Chalen in which Rajesh Khanna,  Aishwarya Rai, and Akshaye Khanna were in the lead roles.
