Looks like the engagement season is in full bloom in Bollywood! After Anushka Sharma’s star studded wedding, yet another actor got engaged to his long time love. Smita Patil and Raj Babbar’s handsome actor son Prateik got engaged to his lady love Sanaya Sagar in a low key affair at Lucknow on January 22nd, 2018.
Prateik who made his dream debut with Kiran Rao’s acclaimed ‘Dhobi Ghat’ couldn’t make his mark in Hindi cinema. The young actor, who was last in relationship with firang beauty Amy Jackson, then shifted his focus towards theatre. Prateik who is gearing up for his second innings in Bollywood with Ahmed Khan’s ‘Baaghi 2’ an Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Mulk’ met Sanaya, 27-year old writer, director and editor Sanaya Sagar 8 years back but the duo started dating only a year ago, as reported by the leading daily.
The couple got engaged at Sanaya’s farmhouse in Lukcnow in presence of close family and friends, which was later followed by delicious 7-course Lucknowi meal.
Talking about the engagement, Prateik quoted, “Sanaya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami.” Prateik proposed Sanaya during a music festival in Goa in December. Though the wedding is not on cards yet as the pair wants to enjoy the courting period, it is said that lavish wedding functions in New Delhi, Lucknow and Mumbai are planned.
The 31 year old Prateik is excited for this new phase in his life and is looking forward to the new beginning at the same time missing his late actor mother Smita Patil on such important occasion.
