New Delhi: There is bad news for the fans of Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone living in the Gulf countries who have been eagerly awaiting the release of the duo's film 'Fighter'.
According to Girish Johar, producer and film business expert: “In a setback, ‘Fighter’ has been officially banned from being released in theaters in the Middle East. Only the United Arab Emirates will release the film with a PG15 rating! But the reason for the ban has not yet been revealed.
Although 'Fighter' has not received the green light from the censor board in Gulf countries, the air action thriller will hit Indian theaters on January 25.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. The film revolves around the Balakot air strike carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in the vicinity of the town of Balakot in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The airstrike was carried out on the alleged main terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in response to a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The terror attack led to the death of nearly 40 CRPF soldiers.
After the successful movies Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Pathaan (2023), Deepika is starring in her third film with Siddharth Anand. It's also Siddharth Anand and Hrithik Roshan's third movie together. Bang Bang!, his debut movie, was made for Rs 160 million and made Rs 340 million in revenue globally. With a budget of Rs 150 million, their second joint venture, War, starring Tiger Shroff, has brought in a total of Rs 471 crore.
As Patty, Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania is portrayed by Hrithik Roshan. Meenal Rathore, also known as Minni, the squad leader, will be played by Deepika Padukone. Rocky, also known as Rakesh Jai Singh, is the group's leader, portrayed by veteran actor Anil Kapoor.
Before the release of the movie, Siddharth had stated, "Mamta (my wife) and I are launching our film company MARFLIX with #FIGHTER." A multifaceted film with much ambition. For us, it's more than just a movie. Everything we have is devoted to this. 2024 is the start year. We hope that you all love FIGHTER just as much as you loved PATHAAN. Greetings for the New Year, everyone! We'll catch you at the movies! 25 January."
