The movie did not succeed at the box office. It results in significant financial pressure and complications in loan repayment. Consequently, multiple cheques provided by the actor allegedly bounced, leading to legal proceedings.

In April 2018, a magistrate's court found Rajpal Yadav and his spouse culpable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, imposing a six-month prison sentence on them. The actor contested the ruling and pursued assistance via several appeals. The issue continued for years, with the pending sum increasing to almost Rs 9 Crore.

In this timeframe, Rajpal succeeded in repaying parts of the debt, which included Rs 75 lakhs in 2025. Nonetheless, persistent postponements and unfulfilled deadlines prompted the court to scrutinize his motives, noting his 'lack of commitment' to settling the issue.

On February 4, 2026, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma rejected Yadav’s last plea for a one-week delay to secure funds. The court emphasized that ongoing leniency could not be permitted, regardless of a person's notoriety, and ordered the actor to comply immediately.
