The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the shortlists in consideration for the 92nd Academy Awards. John Cho and Issa Rae announced the nominations in nine categories on 13th January 2020 -

The film with most nominations i.e., with 11 nominations is "JOKER' . It has received the nominations in the categories - Best Picture, Actor in a Leading Role and Directing. Apart from Joker, there are some other movies that also received multiple nominations. These are - The Irishman, 1917 and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with 10 nominations. Film Jojo Rabbit, Little women, marriage story and parasite received six nominations. The parasite also earned two top nominations, one for Best International Feature Film.
As per sources, nominations voting begin on Thursday, January 2, 2020 and concluded on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Recently, on Monday, January 13, 2020 the nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards announced.
There were some predictions which were made for this year’s Academy Award and it went true. Now the Netflix is also in race and will earn some trophies this awards season. Netflix also acclaimed at the Golden Globe Awards.
As per sources, Netflix received 34 Oscar nominations, 16 of which were in the film category. It has received for movies like Marriage Story, The Two Popes, and The Irishman. One epic movie - three-and-a-half-hour directed by Martin Scorsese received some of the Oscars’ most prestigious awards like Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and two Best Supporting Actor nominations for Al Pacino and Joe Pesci.
Noah Baumbach’s film Marriage Story which is based on marriage and divorce earned six nominations in top categories. Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson received Best Acting nominations, while the director and writer Noah Baumbach got for Best Screenplay and Best Picture.
Laura Dern won an award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Marriage Story. Movies like Joker, Little Women, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Jojo Rabbit all earned multiple nominations across a series of award categories, including acting, sound, editing, costume, writing, and directing spots.

The 92nd Oscars is schedules to be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020. It will be held at the Dolby theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. It will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT. The Oscars also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
